I’m happy to share that Tantor Media bought the North American audio book rights to MIM. I’m looking forward to “ristening” (an apt mashup of “reading” and “listening” that my friend Joe made up) to Maple’s second adventure this fall.

Recent Events
I was extremely honored to have two author events in June: speaking at “Booked for Lunch” at the South Windsor (CT) library and giving the keynote address at the Connecticut Library Consortium’s annual meeting.
Incredibly, I failed to take a single picture at the South Windsor event; I also showed up to sign my own books with no pen, so apparently I was not firing on all cylinders that day… but what a lovely, curious, engaged group! (And kind…several of them gave me pens :)

Malice Domestic
I had a great time at my first Malice Domestic, an annual conference for writers and fans of traditional mysteries. It was great fun to be on a panel focused on women in historical mysteries, and I met a lot of nice people.
Recent Reads
Michael Connelly just introduced a brand-new detective in NIGHTSHADE, which I enjoyed (I bought it at Wesleyan RJ Julia— see above :) He does such a masterful job of bringing the setting alive for any book he writes, and this one definitely made me want to visit Catalina Island.
I also re-read THE GIRLS I’VE BEEN by Tess Sharpe, one of my favorite thrillers from the past five years, and loved it just as much this time around.
