Holy cow, I went to the Edgars!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: crime writers are THE NICEST PEOPLE
Upcoming Connecticut Events
Portland Library
Monday, 5/29: I was very honored that the Portland Library’s mystery book club read and discussed DITD recently; unfortunately, I was unable to attend their meeting, but I’m excited to visit the library next week for an author talk. Here’s the link to register for the event.
Pints and Pages: May 29th
The Pints and Pages Book Club will discuss Death in the Details on May 29th at Red Heat Tavern in South Windsor! Click here for more details (ha, see what I did there?) and here to purchase a copy of the book and support the awesome organization Book Club on the Go CT!
OH MY GOSH THE EDGARS

I loved getting to meet my fellow nominees; you should definitely check out all of their books. Big congratulations to Sulari Gentill for winning the Mary Higgins Clark category! She came all the way from Australia to attend the ceremony. It was fun to meet my editor, Faith Black Ross, in person for the first time. Plus, I was lucky enough to sit next to the delightful Lucy Burdette, fellow Crooked Lane author and a judge in the MHC category (that’s her at the podium announcing the winner).
AAAAAAAND…I got to meet Jacqueline Winspear, author of my beloved Maisie Dobbs series. She won her category for the final Maisie book, but before that I gushed incoherently at her during cocktail hour while my husband snapped a quick picture. She was incredibly lovely and offered me some really kind words of encouragement.
Before the ceremony, my husband and I caught a Mets game. We got to see Juan Soto’s first Citi Field home run. Beautiful day for a ball game!
LGM (if you know, you know).
Recent Read
I just finished Amy Tintera’s Listen for the Lie, which was up for Best Novel at the Edgars. Intriguing premise, very dark and twisty and violent. I read a hard copy because I got one from the swag table after the gala, but I have it on good authority that the audio book version is fantastic.
Remember…
You can pre-order a copy of Murder in Miniature (out September 23rd) here!
Thanks for reading!
